Ultimately, the education system can be blamed for feeding us with propaganda and forcing us to regurgitate it so we can “fit in” with the rest of society. Our public school systems are set up to get the students primed for economic slavery without ever offering courses that allow them to think creatively or freely.
Our children are inevitably asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Their answers become conditioned responses in various forms of economic subservience instead of what they truly would like to do.
A better question to ask them, once they understand the concept of money is, “If there was no such thing as money, then, what would you like to do with your life?”
You would be amazed just how many people would opt to do much better stuff to benefit the Ummah if the concept of money was not there. I personally wanted to be a fire fighter when i was a kid, until my grammar teacher told me that being an architect pays more!
The funny thing is that we are pushed to do these well paying jobs then advised to adopt family planning coz, well, it’s practically impossible to take care of more than 2 kids!
I wanted to be a fireman because in my child’s mind and reasoning, saving people from a burning house was very noble and fulfilling; i felt there was a purpose to it! And falling into this indoctrination is affecting the Ummah negatively because we find Muslim professionals who are into these well paying careers; yet they give nothing back to the Ummah.
But again, there is what the system wants you to be so they can suck all your energy in the process. We are indoctrinated into believing that spending 7 years learning medicine or Architecture prepares us for a long career in employment; where we ultimately retire and enjoy our well earned pensions, watching the sunset on the porch of the house that was built on a mortgage, which you will still be paying by the time you are 84!!
And the commercials we see on TV about seemingly happy couples taking mortgages and loans to build their dream house? Subhanallah! They should come along with a disclaimer stating that once you get into a mortgage then you are pretty much enslaved to the interest rates.
Most people seem to have the attitude that if a talking head on an official news station, such as CNN or Al Jazeera says something, then surely it must be the truth. A CIA whistleblower has already admitted that the news has been scripted for decades in order to influence public opinion.
The key word here is ‘influence public opinion’, like what happened after the recent church attack in Likoni; the Police called it a ‘criminal’ attack while the media termed it a ‘terror’ attack. The more they repeated it, the more it stuck into people’s minds that it was indeed a terror attack.
So, the question is; how can we as Muslims ‘influence public opinion’ in correcting misconceptions about Islam?
